Title: A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOTAR 3)
Author: Sarah J Maas
Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.
As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.
My feelings are raw now and I can’t stop crying because I’ve just finished this book ….everyone knows how much these books mean to myself. I am probably the most emotionally invested. I wanna say that I was surprised by my ability of anticipating most of it. I always thought me and Sarah think alike. 2 plot twists have destroyed me. I will try to keep this as spoiler free as possible.
Firstly, the beginning was unecessary but necessary, do you get me? It was that stupid thing humans do, for the pleasure of doing it. The character development (Feyre reminds me of Juliette sometimes) is just brilliant. Feyre is a proud baby bat now. Still broken, sometimes afraid, but she can handle herself. The journey, the way she protects Lucien, how she just doesn’t give up made me cry. 1/5
Secondly, Rhysand. Rhysand is terrified, panicked, horrified. He could get his mate outta that hell with 2 snaps of his fingers. But he doesn’t, for he knows that she’s the ruler of that hell. He knows he could handle it and because she is his equal, he trusts her. I cried, I cried, I cried. Rhysand is that kind of character who wants everyone to value themselves, but he doesn’t. He would sacrifice himself for what he loves, still calling himself ‘unworthy’. The power dynamic in their relationship is what I am hoping for. His speech made me cry. 2/5
Thirdly, Mor, Azriel, Amren, Cassian – I am so glad they are alright. I missed everything. I missed their banter . I will miss them. I was very pleased that we get to see more of the oh-so-mysterious Azriel. Morrigan oh Morrigan. She really annoyed me at times (SAILING TOWARDS MY NESSIAN SHIP ), but everything she’s endured in order to keep that ‘something’ (keeping the spoilers from you) part of, only, herself was admirable. She’s easy to love. Cassian damn him I am ready to read the next novels (hopefully, with his and Nesta’s story). I am sorry that I doubted the tiny monster Amren. 3/5
TAMLIN. I’ve known this would happen. Quite the precarious balance. I told myself that if anyone essential dies while Tamlin gets his redemption, I will rage. Meh. Everything’s flowery at the Spring Court. ‘Be happy’ -Cried here too so, there we go. 4/5 (THAT DOESN’T MEAN I LIKE TAMLIN. He’s that character who doesn’t deserve my hate, but I still childishly despise him. )
The whole book. I can’t believe this is the end. *I stopped crying a few minutes ago. I can feel the tears coming back.* I’ve finished this so fast because I couldn’t stop from reading, but there is regret. Regret that it’s the end. These books taught me so many things. Everyon eventually came together to save their world. I know what I am looking for. Always search for a Rhysand, because listen to me, they exist. But not because you can’t live without one. BECAUSE LISTEN AGAIN, YOU CAN LIVE FINE WITHOUT A RHYSAND (cough Feyre the huntress cough). But if you ever fall in love, make sure you get treated as a queen, as an equal, and don’t settle for less. 5/5
If you ever feel you don’t belong somewhere, run. If you don’t find a place for you, maybe there is none.Create one. Search for it. Never give up on your dreams, it doesn’t matter how impossible they are.
This book totally wrecked me.
One last thing before I will attack you with my favourite quotations. I will make an ACOTAR playlist (Youtube + Spotify). This is not the end.
To the stars who listen and dreams that are answered.
You belong to all of us, and we belong to you.
Only you can decide what breaks you, Cursebreaker. Only you.
Remember that you are a wolf. And you cannot be caged.
It’s a rare person to face who they are and not run from it – not be broken by it.
One life may change the world.
Night Triumphant- and the Stars Eternal.
Why should I be scared of an oversized bat who likes to throw temper tantrums
I would have waited five hundred more years for you. A thousand years. And if this was all the time we were allowed to have… the wait was worth it.
The great joy and honour of my life has been to know you. To call you my family. And I am grateful – more than I can possibly say – that I was given this time with you all
there was not enough time in life to waste on hatred. On feeling it and putting it into the world
it is the family you make, not the one you are born into, that matters.
This is a treasure. This book is my heart and I can’t explain how much I love it. I give this book the night sky, only five stars are not enough.
Never forget the Nephelle Philosophy, my overgrown bats: What we think to be our greatest weakness can sometimes be our biggest strength.
Also, it’s never too late for learning how to fly. Ask Feyre.
